(Disclaimer! I'm not a photography expert, but I know what I do and don't like.)
The colors and light in this photo are phenomenal! The golds and amethyst in the blur contrast gorgeously with the emerald of the branch.
It's also really interesting how the large bokehs are in the foreground, and the subject is in the midground. You don't see that as often in heavy-bokeh shots.
I only gave four stars for originality, because I've been trying to capture this style for a long time, and if I'm trying to do it, it can't be that original (haha). Not that it's a bad thing! It's a popular style of photography because it's beautiful.
Does composition fall under the category of "technique"? Because if it does: great technique! Otherwise, I don't have a lot to say about technique because I don't always know what makes it good or bad. Like I said, I just know what instantly appeals to me.
That all being said, it's a breathtaking photo, and sometimes I think that's harder to convey with abstract blurs and blips than it is with a sharp image.
